Here I am in school, trying to meet deadlines and graduate. Am I really doing what I love? Or for that matter, what do I love? As Gary Vaynerchuk rightly put it, "passion is undefeated". These guys presenting at FOWA are doing what they're passionate about. And they're winning. I have got to figure this out.
I had to leave the conference a little early to catch my flight to Mexico so I didn't get a chance to attend the afternoon session. I just watched Gary Vaynerchuk's talk online. If you have 30 minutes to spare while eating or doing whatever you do, watch this. This talk sums up FOWA pretty amazingly. As Gary mentions in the video, the web is not about the platform, but about content providers. You and me - reading and writing the web. All we need to do is "hustle" more and figure out how to add value to this rich yet incomplete web. Leave your mark in there.
I wish there was some way for such conferences to take place on college campuses - to inspire students and urge them to do what they really love. At the same time, while I can listen to such conferences all day long and be moved, I've got to do something about it.
In the words of Gary Vaynerchuk, "I need to hustle more".
The videos are up online here. Watch them - trust me, they'll be worth your time.
